  • At present India consists of - 29 states and 7 Union Territories.
  • The constitution of India at present contains - 443 Articles.

  • Article 14 - Article declares that the state shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within India
  • Article 17 - Articles of the Constitution abolishes the practise of untouchability. 
  • Article 25 - Article guarantees to every person the freedom to profess, practise and propage his own religion.
  • Article 32 - A person can move the Supreme Court directly in the event of violation of Fundamental Rights.

  • 73rd Amendment - The Panchayats were given Constitutional status.
